Facilities for disabled friendly, barrier free atmosphere

For an inclusive education, Basirhat College is against of all kind of discrimination including physical disabilities and take initiatives to provide equal opportunities to the physically challenged students to fulfill their educational needs. The institution has a special guideline for all stakeholders to extend their helping hand towards the person with physical disabilities.

Guideline:

1. Equal opportunities to be given to the students with disabilities to explore their educational intelligence.

• a) Students with disabilities are given extra 20 minutes for the examination of duration 1 hour and 40 minutes for the examination of duration 2 hour.
• b) Extra time is given to the students with disabilities to complete their project and assignment.
• c) If required, students are provided with writers.

2. Prohibition of any kind of discrimination against disabilities to create an inclusive environment for all.

1. Disabled friendly facility to the differently abled persons for their easy access to the institution:

    Ramps are available at the main entrance of the campus and at the entrance of the washrooms.

2. Disabled friendly facility to the differently abled persons for their easy access to the washroom:

    Two dedicated disabled friendly washrooms are available at the institution, one is at girl’s common room and other is at the adjacent to the main building. Grab bars are attached in the washrooms for the convenience of the physically challenged persons.

3. Brail Signage for differently abled persons for their easy access to the classrooms:

    All classrooms have Brail signage at the outside for physically challenged persons.

    Reference books are available for easy access to the physically challenged students.at the library situated at the ground floor of the campus.
